Back From Haiti

Well i'm back from Haiti. What an experience it was. The people there are so strong and I know that they have a tough road ahead of them but they will come through. Please continue to pray for them as it is not just hard physically for them but is beginning to settle in emotionally as well. We did a lot of food distribution and Medical treatment there. Working with the Marines and the Canadian military was great. I will have a whole post on my experience before the end of the week as well as some ways that you can help the Haitians. I just wanted to let you see a clip of me getting hit in the head with a piece of wood while i was filming a CH-53 Super Stallion Helicopter landing. I also got knocked over a few times with some other shots but i'll save that for later:) Not so funny as it is cool looking. Check it out. There will be a trailer up shortly as well. Thanks to everyone for your prayers for me , the team and especially the people of Haiti.

New Canon 5dmkII in the house:)

Usually people know me as a Nikon guy. But with the opportunity that I have to head down to Haiti and Film I really thought it was time to get a 5dmarkII for all its video capabilities. And yes it was worth it. (actually its works camera) Anyways here is just a little bit of some practice that I was getting with the camera tonight at Thirst (an event at church) I must say that with a little help from a shoulder rig I think this is my new baby:) I really hope the images that I bring back will show people that it is not just a one or two week effort but a long term effort to help out the people of Haiti. Here is the footage. Take a look.

Georgia has snow!!

Well looks like we finally got the blizzard of 2010 out of the way. With a grand total of 1/4" of snow:) On the bright side Emma got to have fun in the crisp snow for the first time. Being from Canada I know which snow you can make snowmen with and which ones you can't. My wife asked me "Can we build a snowman?" I laughed and told her no. I can only imagine all the kids around the neighborhood trying to do the same thing and being soooo disappointed. At least we got to play in it for a little. Take a look.
